Dickens Yard was a development by Berkeley Group of 698 apartments principally in new blocks, but part of the development was a historic terrace building which formed part of the façade.
Goldsmith Group were engaged to remove the existing floors and roof, whilst retaining the façade on a temporary basis on steel work and kentledge support.
The existing floors were removed and new floors introduced through the building. New structural steel work was installed to stabilise the structure and retain the Façade in the permanent condition.
A new roof was installed with heritage clay tiles to restore the original look external whilst providing 21 st Century internal accommodation.
